“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority,
it is time to pause and reflect.”
― Mark Twain
Few think about thinking. It isn’t direct and it has many levels. Here are a few of the levels that go on all the time when you’re thinking.
Images
You use a kind of sight to visualize what’s in your mind. Sometimes you will see things in the first person as if they were memories, and other times you’ll sense distance between things. You may see ideas and relationships expressed in images.
Words
Words are the teeth in the gears that turn our minds. We both recognize their importance and dismiss the degree they control us. It is as if we are an assembly of dust held together by the attraction between the particles. We ascribe little importance to them because we don’t believe they have any mind of their own, but if it were not for them we would fall apart.
