Comparing New York with Vancouver Island, British Columbia provides a compelling contrast of police-enforced social engineering in the USA and Canada… I observed a more progressive view of self-governance, a greater personal involvement in community affairs, and a federal structure that is more supportive of individual freedom.
My conclusions may not be surprising since Vancouver Island is Canada’s most progressive region, and New York State is one of the least progressive states in the US. Yet even taking this into account the differences are startling.

Hi Lincoln, about NYS and homeschooling. One is required to write a plan. So one creates a plan that does all the stuff they want. One is required to report grades each quarter. So one is free to send in straight As all the time. There is do definition of how those grade are to be arrived at. I think that is about it. The Home School Legal Defense Fund is very helpful.
